Program Overview

Summer College classroom with students and teacherFocus your daytime hours on one intensive Duke University undergraduate course for which you will receive academic credit recorded on an official Duke University transcript. Interact with Duke undergraduate students in small classes taught by exceptional Duke faculty and instructors. Supplement your formal academic experience by choosing to attend a Weekend Film Series:

10:05 AM - 12:05 PM Duke class or optional academic advising
12:05 PM - 2 PM Lunch, explore campus, study, and research
2 PM - 4:05 PM Duke class or optional academic advising
4:05 PM - 6:30 PM Explore campus and the surrounding off-campus area, optional residential activities, clubs, study, and research
6:30 PM - 8 PM Dinner and optional residential activities
8 PM - 9:30 PM On-campus exploration, optional residential activities, study, and research
9:30 PM Residence Hall meeting
11 PM Quiet time, study, and research
 

Note: Students must be on campus no later than 9:00 PM and in the residence hall after 10:00 PM unless a structured residential activity has been organized and is supervised by staff.

Residential Life at Summer College will be filled with community-building activities such as an optional Durham Bulls’ baseball game or off-campus excursions such as shopping trips, nature hikes, and talent shows. There will also be opportunities for shopping and exploring 9th Street with your friends. Beyond the regularly scheduled programming, our residential staff can help you find additional opportunities to explore the local area and culture. Please note that some of these additional opportunities may carry a fee for which you will be responsible.
