Register

  • Current Duke students: You should use DukeHub. Look for the announcement explaining how to make yourself eligible to enroll for Term 1 or Term 2 or both.
  • Incoming transfer students: You are required to submit a final college transcript to be approved by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions before registration will be permitted.
  • Graduating Duke seniors and Duke alumni: You should register using the Summer Session Application form. Alumni qualifying for a tuition grant should see Tuition Grants for Duke Alumni.

Undergraduate students who plan to enroll for courses, and graduate students who plan to enroll for research (graded or ungraded) or continuation in one or more terms of the 2018 Summer Session, are encouraged to have their course programs reviewed by their respective schools or colleges.

Typically, but with the exception of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and the Master of Arts in Teaching programs, if a graduate student continuing in a degree program registers in the summer session, it is for continuation only.

Instructions for Bookbagging from the Registrar's Office:

To bookbag Summer classes, you first need to make yourself term active for the Summer. You can do this by going to the Registration tab in DukeHub and clicking the link under the Request Summer/Winter Enrollment heading to the left of the page. On that page you’ll check the box next to Summer Term 1, Summer Term 2, or both boxes. Click the green submit button and then you should receive a message saying “The Save was successful.” Click Ok and then click the link below the Class Search or Advanced Class Search headings. Before you begin looking for classes to place in your bookbag, change the search term to 2018 Summer Term 1 or 2018 Summer Term 2. When you have found a class that you want to bookbag, click the Add to Bookbag link to the right of the class description box. Once you click Add to Bookbag you should receive a message saying that the class was successfully added.

Please contact the University Registrar’s Office at 919/684-2813 or registrar@duke.edu if you have any questions or concerns about this procedure.
