Admissions into Duke Summer College Online is competitive and selective. We take each component of our application into account when reviewing applicants. We look for students who have a commitment to service, strong extracurricular experience, and a history of academic excellence. Students who are currently in grades 10 – 12 are encouraged to apply.
If English is not your first language, you must submit scores from one of the following English language exams:
- Internet-based TOEFL (100 minimum)
- IELTS (7.0 minimum)
- Duke University’s EIS exam

We review applications on a rolling basis. Your application will not be reviewed until you have submitted all of your supplementary materials (see Application Directions for more information). It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is complete. Applicants typically receive an admission decision within three weeks of submitting a complete application.
