Language Proficiency - High School

Applicants who do not use English as their primary language must demonstrate the ability to undertake a rigorous, fast-paced academic coursework in English.

If your first language is not English and you are not currently studying in a country where English is the primary language that is spoken, we require that you take one of the following English proficiency tests listed below.

Scores must be from the past two years (from the application year). Those applying in 2024 should have scores from August 1, 2021 or later.

DET (Duolingo English Test)
Minimum score: 125 with subscores included

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)  
Minimum band score: 7

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 
Minimum score: 90 on the internet-based TOEFL
